About us
We are a non-profit club, for cyclists in the Texoma Region (north Texas & southern Oklahoma). We are registered in good standing with LAB (the League of American Bicyclists).
The Texoma Cycling Club (TCC) is a club where its members can make some friends, be met with a challenge or two, and if nothing else be entertained along the way. The TCC exists to promote cycling in all forms and raise the awareness of cycling safety within the community. These objectives will be accomplished through the promotion of beginner rides, riding and safety classes within the local community and schools, the sponsorship of local riding events, and by providing a selection weekly group rides at varying levels, speeds, and distances.
In the end....we will have a good time, a good laugh, and hopefully become better athletes too.
Club Officers
At the December Christmas Party, we elected officers:
The Club Credos are as follows:
To ride, laugh, and sing as badly and as often as we can.
To keep the tires ON and the skin OFF the ground as much as possible. Failing that, to bounce right up and return to the ride as quickly as technically possible. (Remember: Rubber side down)
To share and spread our passion for cycling with as many people as we/they can stand.
To understand that the ride is just that, “The Ride”, and that it will occur despite the heat, cold, rain, sleet, wind, hills, etc. Except lightning. (We’re not that crazy.)
To understand that to keep a positive attitude, wind will be referred to as “heavy air” or “resistance training opportunities”, hills referred to as “vertical challenges”, and dogs referred to as “personal speed motivators”, “cadence enhancers”, or “bonus heart rate training.”
To ensure that to whine is to be bitch-slapped (unless blood and gore are involved) then we just laugh.
To prove that, in the right hands, a bicycle or a song can be a deadly weapon.
If you see another TCC member, the appropriate call/greeting is “….Duuuude!!!”
Other Activities:
From time to time TCC will organize and promote group activities to meet the needs of the membership of the club. This would include but not limited to Group rides (road and mountain), Trail Runs, Hikes, Multi Sport training , pick nicks, pool parties, and other various and sundry forms of good clean fun.
Suggestions are always welcome from the club members.
